New CDC & OMH Minority Health Social Vulnerability Index

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) have launched a Minority Health Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) to help state-level professionals and community leaders better identify racial and ethnic minority communities at greatest risk of advserse outcomes related to public health emergencies, like COVID-19.

Website visitors can use the dashboard to view national, state, and county-level data for socioeconimic status, household composition and disability, minotiry status and languages, housing type and transportation, and medical vulnerability. Additionally, visitors can also filter data based on these attributes as well as an overall vulnerability score for a geographic region.
